Devs Ban Account Sellers & Cheaters

Updated Sat, Apr 11, 2020 in Official News eSports 0 comments

VALORANT devs took swift action against account sellers and cheaters during the first week of the Closed Beta.

On April 8th (only 1 day after the Closed Beta began), account bans were issued for those flouting the Riot Games TOS.

We've banned a pile of VALORANT closed beta account sellers and botters to free up more entitlements. Tracking more. Don't buy accounts, you might lose them!

VALORANT Executive Producer Anna Donlon added in a Quote Tweet:

We’re committed to this. Please don’t buy accounts. https://t.co/h3JhKMVcDB

On April 9th, VALORANT anti-cheat lead Paul ‘arkem’ Chamberlain, noted they had banned their first confirmed cheater in the game:

Well it sucks, but today we had to ban our first cheater (and it looks like more bans are on the horizon).

I was hoping for a little more time before this fight kicked off but we're in it now and we're ready.

Riot’s transparency into these bans is refreshing, and reaffirms their commitment to keeping the game experience great for everyone. It also puts on notice anyone considering buying or selling a Closed Beta account or cheating altogether.

Just don’t do it.
